Regina Opera Company Announces Winter Gala Concert 2023

Regina Opera Company has announced its Winter Gala Concert, which is set for Feb. 5, 2023.

The event will feature sopranos Veronica Mak, Lisa Bryce, and Dilara Unsal; mezzo-soprano Naomi Steele; tenor Jax Hassler; baritone Nigel Smith; flustis Richard Paratley; violinist Mikhail Parkhomovsky; and pianist Catherine Miller.

The ensemble will present a two-hour concert of opera duets, arias, and other instrumental selections from such works as “Pagliacci,” “La Bohème,” “Rigoletto,” “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “Carmen,” and “Porgy and Bess,” among others. There will also be performances of traditional songs such as “Torna a Surriento” and “Core n’grato,” among others.

The event will kick off at 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Brooklyn, New York. Per the company’s official website, COVID-19 vaccination, photo ID, and masks will be required during all performances.

Later this season the company will present “Il Tabarro” and “The Student Prince.”
