Real Filharmonía De Galicia Announces 2019-20 Season

The Real Filharmonía de Galicia has announced its 2019-20 season. For purposes of this article, we will only concentrate on the vocal performances.

Miren Urbieta Vega and Damián Del Castillo perform a night of Zarzuela with works by J. Guridi, F. Moreno Torroba, and P. Sorozábal. Manuel Coves conducts.

Performance Date: Oct. 3, 2019

Fernando Buide’s “A amnesia de Clío” is set to be performed with Paul Daniel conducting and soloists Raquel Lojendio, Sebastiá Peris, and Sandra Ferrández.

Performance Dates: Nov. 10 & 13, 2019

Handel’s “Messiah” is performed on time for the holiday season. Robert Howarth conducts the masterpiece with soloists Elisa Willson, Catherine Hopper, Guy Cutting, and George Humphreys.

Performance Dates: Dec. 12 & 13, 2019

Pablo González conducts a program entitled “Iberia” with Claire Huangci and María José Pérez.

Performance Dates: Feb. 28, 2020

Pablo González conducts a program dedicated to the music of Spain. The performances will include Claire Huangci, María José Pérez, and Enrike Solinís.

Performance Dates: March 4-7, 2020

Dima Slobodeniouk, conducts Viktoria Mullova and mezzo-soprano Marie Henriette Reinhold in music by Beethoven and Schubert.

Performance Dates: April 30, 2020

Marc-Leroy Calatayud conducts Virginie Verrez in Chausson’s Poeme d’Amour. The program also includes music by S. McNeff and Beethoven.

Performance Dates: May 7-9, 2020

Paul Daniel conducts Pene Pati in an operatic evening filled with works by Bizet, Massenet, Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti.

Performance Dates: May 28 & 29, 2020
