Random Opera Company has announced that it will be presenting its first opera on film via MarqueeTV.

The opera in question is “Don Pasquale,” which was filmed on location at the Glyndebourne estate and Piano Smithfield at the Barbican.

The opera stars tenor Joseph Doody, Sophie Levi-Roos, Julieth Lozano, Donald Maxwell and features music director and pianist Kelvin Lim. Per MarqueeTV, the work was directed by Richard Jones, Kelvin Lim, and Sophie Levi-Roos.

“Applications soared, we were receiving hundreds of inquiries from singers longing to perform. Theatres were dark, but for aspiring creatives, years of dedication and hard work could not be quashed and we had to find a way around it,” said General Director Richard Jones regarding the inception of the project.

Random Opera was created in 2011 with the goal of offering “emerging artists the chance to work together to create full-scale opera productions that deliver a fresh take on our favorite operas, whilst working to the highest possible musical standards.”
