Random Opera Announces Historic 2022 Season

U.K.-based Random Opera has announced its 2022 season.

The season kicks off with a production of Carl Maria von Weber’s “Der Freischütz.”

Performance Date: April 9, 2022

Next up is the world premiere of Evan Henry and John Klaess’ “Algorithisms,” the winner of the company’s New Works Competition.

Performance Date: Jun 2022

The company will then pivot to the world of Bel canto for a production of “La Sonnambula.” Richard Tegid Jones will direct the production which will be presented at the Temple Speech Room in Rugby. It is worth noting that this is the first U.K. performance of the Bellini opera in 10 years.

Performance Date: July 30, 2022

The season draws to a close with the historic world premiere of Bottini’s “Elena e Gerardo.” The 1822 work has never been performed. Richard Tegid Jones discovered the score in the archives at the Institute Boccherini in Lucca, Italy, and will direct the work.
