Ramon Vargas Returns to Mexico for Recital

By Francisco Salazar

On Oct. 5, Ramon Vargas is set to return to Mexico to perform at the Festival CulturaUNAM.

The tenor will perform at the Sala Nezahualcóyotl alongside pianist Ángel Rodríguez.

The program will include Napolitan songs and Italian songs by Ernesto Tagliaferri, Jimmy Fontana, and Evemero Nardella. He will also sing Mexican songs by Maria Grever and Agustín Lara.

In a statement, Vargas said, “I am very happy to participate in the CulturaUNAM 2025 festival and to perform in the wonderful Sala Nezahualcóyotl, which is an emblematic place along with Bellas Artes. Furthermore, I am able to perform in a more intimate way, such as a recital, in which the artist and the audience are closer. I have the pleasure of sharing the performances in a very personal way, interacting with the audience that regularly visits the Sala Nezahualcóyotl, as well as with all those who want to participate, because art is about sharing and participating. So I am very happy and I hope to see you there; thank you very much.”

This season, Vargas is set to perform in Korea and will go on tour.
