Rai5 to Present ‘Salome’ from Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

On April 13, Strauss’ “Salome” will open at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in a new production by Emma Dante and will be broadcast on Rai 5 and Rai Radio 3.

The production will open the 87th Festival of teh Maggio Musicale and will be conducted by Alexander Soddy.

Lidia Fridman will sing the title role in her acclaimed turn alongside Nikolai Schukoff as Herodes, Anna Maria Chiuri as Herodias, and Brian Mulligan as Jochanaan.

The cast will be rounded out by Eric Fennell, Marvic Monreal, Arnold Bezuyen, Mathias Frey, Patrick Vogel, Franz Gürtelschmied, Karl Huml, William Hernandez, Frederic Jost, and Karl Huml.

The production will run through April 27, 2025.
