Rai5 is set to broadcast the Teatro Regio di Parma’s new production of Verdi’s “Un Ballo Maschera” on Oct. 14, 2021.

The performance, which is part of the annual Festival Verdi, stars Piero Pretti as Gustavo, Anna Pirozzi as Amelia, Amartuvshin Enkhbatyn as Anckastrom, Anna Maria Chiuri as Ulrica, and Giulia Giandaldoni as Oscar.

Roberto Abbado conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in a new production originally conceived by Grahm Vick and directed by Jacopo Spirei.

Rai Cultura will showcase the production first on Rai5 and then on RaiPlay.

This season the festival is also streaming its concert performance of “Simon Boccanegra” on Oct. 9 starring Angela Meade and Igor Golovatenko.

“Un Ballo in Maschera” opened on Sept. 24 and runs through Oct. 15 with a total of four performances.
