Rai 5 to Broadcast ‘Lohengrin’ from Teatro dell’opera di Roma

On Nov. 27, Rai 5 will present the opening night of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s 2025-2026 season.
The season will open with Wagner’s “Lohengrin,” which returns to the Rome stage after a 50-year absence. The work will be transmitted on Rai Cultura and Rai 5 and will be conducted by Music Director Michele Mariotti and directed by Damiano Michieletto, a co-production Palau de les Arts di Valencia and Teatro La Fenice di Venezia.
Dmitry Korchak will sing the title role alongside a cast that includes Jennifer Holloway (Elsa), Clive Bayley (Heinrich der Vogler), Tómas Tómasson (Friedrich von Telramund), Ekaterina Gubanova (Ortrud), and Andrei Bondarenko (Der Heerrufer).
“Lohengrin” is set to be performed five times through Dec. 7 2025.
