Queen City Opera To Stream All Past Productions

By David Salazar

Queen City Opera is joining the ranks of opera companies around the world who are giving audiences a chance to check out a past production online.

The Cincinnati-based company is now its complete history of production available for free online via its QueenCityOpera.org and on YouTube.

Among the offerings are three Mozart operas including “Don Giovanni,” “Zaide,” and “Bastien und Bastienne,” as well as Montemezzi’s “L’Amore dei tre rei.” Other operas available online include Rossini’s “La Cenerentola,” Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta,” the first act of “Die Walküre,” Wagner’s entire “Siegfried,” and Weber’s “Der Freischütz” and “Abu Hassan.”

The performance of “Siegfried” was the first in Ohio and won  the American Prize in both Opera Production and Opera Conducting.

Queen City Opera was founded in 2012 and is a member of Opera America.
