Purchase College Opera is set to present “Hansel and Gretel” this holiday season.

The opera, which will open on Dec. 7, 2023 and runs through Dec. 10 for a total of four performances, will feature students in the Conservatory of Music’s Voice and Opera Studies department.

“’Hansel and Gretel’ is an enchanting introduction to opera for young audiences and a perennial favorite of regular opera-goers who delight in the charming folk music,” said Jacque Trussel, director of Purchase Opera and Purchase College Conservatory of Music’s Voice and Opera Studies, in an official press statement issued by the company.

The duration of the performance will be 90 minutes. The production is sponsored by the support of such organizations as the Westchester Community Foundation – Rudyard & Emanuella Reimss Fund; The Emily Grant Opera Performance and Production Fund; The L. Werlinich Opera Production Endowment; and the Purchase College Foundation.
