Pulsations Bordeaux Unveils 2023 Season

Pulsations Bordeaux is set to open this week. Here is a look at the classical vocal performances on tap for the 2023 season.

First up is “Orphée et Eurydice,” in the Berlioz edition. The opea stars Blandine de Sansal, Jacquelyn Stucker, and Madison Nona. Raphaël Pichon conducts and Eddy Garaudel directs.

Performance Dates: June 15 – 17, 2023

There will be a series of performances entitled “Les Pyg’chounes” for younger audiences ages 1-3. Soprano Cécile Dalmon will perform alongside lutist Diego Salamanca.

Performance Dates: June 17 – 19, 2023

“Bingo! Un loto Musical” will feature Igor Bouin, Martial Pauliat, and Yann Rolland. Corinne Benizio directs the performance.

Performance Dates: June 18, 2023

Soprano Cécile Dalmon and tenor Guillaume Gutierrez will headline “Offenb’accordéon” alongside accordion player Domi Emorine.

Performance Dates: June 22, 2023

Mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet joins Le Poème Harmonique under Vincent Dumestre for “Musique au Louvre.”

Performance Dates: June 23, 2023

“La Tentation des Pieuvres” is a work for two voices and percussion. It will star Maguelone Vidal, Didier Petit, and Philippe Foch, among others.

Performance Dates: June 24 & 25, 2023

Tenors Zachary Wilder and Emiliano Gonzalez Toro join Ensemble I Gemelli (under the music direction of Gonzalez Toro) for “A Room of Mirrors.”

Performance Dates: June 25, 2023 

Benjamin Lazar, Florent Hubert, and Judith Chemla bring a unique take on Verdi’s “La Traviata,” entitled “Traviata, vous méritez un avenuir meilleur.” The work stars Judith Chemla as Violetta with Damien Bigourdan as Alfredo and Jérôme Billy as Giorgio Germont.

Performance Dates: June 26 & 27, 2023

Sopranos Anne-Emmanuelle Davy and Perrine Devillers and altos Corinne Bahuad and Marie Pouchelon, also known as Quatuor Saman, perform “M’y promenant.”

Performance Dates: June 27 & 28, 2023 

Soprano Judith Fa joins the cellists of the Pygmalion for a concert featuring works by Monteverdi, Strauss, Villa-Lobos, and de Lassus, among others.

Performance Dates: June 28, 2023 

The Compagnie La Tempête choral ensemble performs in “Nocturne” alongside vocalist Adrian Sîrbu.
