By Francisco Salazar

The Puccini Festival has announced a cast change for its production of “Tosca” on August 9, 2025.

The company said that due to illness, Jonathan Tetelman won’t be able to sing the role of Mario Cavaradossi. As a result, Vittorio Grigolo will sing the role and return to the festival following his performances as Rodolfo in “La bohème.”

Grigolo has performed on the great stages in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, and Bayerische Staatsoper, among many others. He has performed the role of Cavaradossi at the Met, Arena di Verona, and Wiener Staatsoper.

He is set to join a cast that includes Carmen Giannattasio as Floria Tosca and Mikolaj Zalasinski as Scarpia.
