The 23th edition of the International Lyric Singing Award will be held in the cities of Fasano and Monopoli on Dec. 8 and 9, 2020. Established by the Valerio Gentile Study Institute in collaboration with the Niccolo Piccinni Conservatory in Bari, and the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoli, the award was started in 1997 to commemorate Valerio Gentile, a young voice student who died prematurely.

The competition is open to all young opera singers who, as of Jan. 1, 2020, are still under 28 years old. The prizes include scholarships, awards of  €2000, €1000, and € 500 for the first three placing artists, as well as performance opportunities at concerts produced by companies represented by the panelists.

The panel will be comprised by President Sonia Ganassi, Andrea De Amici of In Art Management, Vito Clemente of Traetta Opera Festival, Antonia Valente of the Ritratti Monopoli Festival, Pietro Rotolo of the Giovanni Padovano Association and more.
