Wise Music Group has reached an agreement with Portuguese composer Vasco Mendonça.

He is set to join the roster of Éditions Alphonse Leduc, which includes the likes of Betsy Jolas, Henri Dutilleux, Jacques Ibert, André Jolivet, Elsa Barraine, Olivier Messiaen, Germaine Tailleferre, Nadia Boulanger, and Francis Poulenc.

“I am delighted to be joining such a wonderful, historic publisher as Alphonse Leduc – and I hugely look forward to working together with their fantastic team on many exciting projects in the future,” the composer stated in an official press statement.

Mendonça’s works have been commissioned and performed by such organizations as Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Aldeburgh Music, Verbier Festival, Musica Nova Helsinki, Musica Strasbourg, November Music, Music Theatre Wales, Muziektheater Transparant, LOD Muziektheater, Gaudeamus Music Week and Morelia Music Festival, among many others.

His opera, “The Girl, the Hunter, and The Wolf,” is set for its world premiere at the Dutch National Opera on Oct. 15, 2022.
