On May 14, 2019, the Portland Opera will present baritone Geoffrey Schellenberg in recital.

This performance, scheduled for May 14 2019, at the Whitsell Auditorium of the Portland Art Museum, is part of the company’s 2019 Resident Artist Series.

Schellenberg, in his first year as a resident artist, will work alongside Nicholas Fox, who is Portland Opera’s Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor.

Schellenberg made his Portland Opera debut in “La Traviata” earlier this season and is set to perform in such operas as “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “La Finta Giardiniera,” and as a soloist in the 2019 Big Night Concert. He has previously appeared at the Calgary Opera as part of its Emerging Artist Program.

Portland Opera’s Big Night Concert is set for May 11, which will then be followed by Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in June. “La Finta Giardiniera” gets six performances in mid-July, followed by Glass’ “In the Penal Colony” in late July.
