Polish National Opera to Present New Production of ‘La Forza del Destino’

The Polish National Opera is set to premiere a new production of Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino.”

The production, which is set to open on Jan. 13, will be directed by Mariusz Treliński’ whose staging is a co-production between the Polish National Opera and the Metropolitan Opera, where it premieres during the 2023-24 season.

The production will include designs by Boris Kudlička and costumes by Moritz Junge. Maestro Patrick Fournillier conducts the Verdi masterpiece with a cast that includes Tomasz Konieczny as Calatrava and Padre Guardiano, Izabela Matuła as Donna Leonora, and Krzysztof Szumański as Don Carlo di Vargas. The cast is rounded out by Tadeusz Szlenkier as Don Alvaro, Monika Ledzion-Porczyńska as Preziosilla, and Dariusz Machej as Fra Melitone.

“La Forza del Destino” is set to be performed through Jan. 22, 2023.
