Polish National Opera to Open New Production of ‘Falstaff’
By Francisco SalazarThe Polish National Opera is set to open a new production of Verdi’s “Falstaff.”
The production will open on April 17 and run through 26, 2026 at the Moniuszko Auditorium with Marek Weiss directing.

In a statement he said, “Falstaff is the sum total of my experiences. It’s Verdi’s masterpiece. A very complex, perplexing, and convoluted masterpiece. As if the composer said, ‘Oh, you really want another opera? No problem, I’ll write you something funny and contemporary.”
The production will star Sergio Vitale, Mateusz Michałowski, Stanislav Kuflyuk, Stepan Drobit, Aleksandra Orłowska, Natalia Rubiś, Hanna Sosnowska-Bill, Hanna Okońska, Nico Darmanin, Ioan Hotea, Deniz Uzun, Valentina Pluzhnikova, Monika Ledzion-Porczyńska, and Elżbieta Wróblewska. Patrick Fournillier conducts the production.
