The Arena di Verona has announced the participation of tenor Plácido Domingo in “Verdi Opera Night.”

The company announced that Domingo will perform excerpts from “Macbeth,” “Don Carlo,” and “Aida.” He will be accompanied by Clémentine Margaine, Maria José Siri, Ildar Abdrazakov, Gabriele Sagona, and Fabio Sartori.

“Macbeth” will open the gala with Maria José Siri singing Lady Macbeth and Domingo singing the title role.

For the excerpts from “Don Carlo,” Fabio Sartori will perform the title role, Clémentine Margaine will perform Eboli, and Siri will sing Elisabetta. As noted Domingo will sing Rodrigo while Ildar Abdrazakov will sing Filippo II.

For “Aida,” Siri will sing the title role while Sartori will sing the role of Radamès and Clémentine Margaine will take on the Amneris. Finally, Abdrazakov will sing Ramfis and Domingo will take on Amonasro in his role debut.

Jordi Bernàcer will be at the podium for the concert on August 25, 2022.
