Plácido Domingo To Inaugurate Festival In Úbeda

Plácido Domingo is set to inaugurate the 32nd Festival Internacional de Música y Danza Ciudad de Úbeda.

The concert set for May 3, 2020 will take place at the Plaza de Toros and will be accompanied by the festival’s orchestra. Domingo will perform a selection of opera arias and Zarzuela romances as well as songs from the international repertoire.

The festival also announced that Domingo will get a the festival’s gold medal and the award “Amigos de la Música” for his extraordinary 50-year career and his service to the classical music, opera, and Zarzuela.

Domingo’s Spain schedule is quite busy this season as he is set to celebrate his 50th anniversary with the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid where he will sing one performance of “Luisa Fernanda” and will return to the Teatro Real de Madrid for Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Nadine Sierra and Michael Fabiano.
