Plácido Domingo, Giuseppina Bridelli & Davinia Rodriguez Lead Fondazione Teatri Piacenza’s Fall Season

The Fondazione Teatri Piacenza has announced its 2020 fall season.

For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on the vocal and operatic performances.

The season opens with Handel’s “Aci, Galatea e Polifemo” with Raffaele Pe, Giuseppina Bridelli, and Andrea Mastroni. La lira di Orfeo accompanies with Gian Maria Aliverta directing the production.

Performance Date: Oct. 31, 2020

On New Year’s Eve, the Concerto di San Silvestro will star Silvia da Benetta with Leonardo Sini conducting.

Performance Date: Dec. 31, 2020

Plácido Domingo conducts Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in memory of the COVID-19 victims. The legendary opera singer leads a cast that includes Davinia Rodriguez, Antonio Poli, Annalisa Stroppa, and Michele Pertusi.

Performance Date: Nov. 24, 2020

Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” is set to star Simone Del Savio, Ruzil Gatin, Marco Filippo Romano, Francesco Cascione, Giuseppina Bridelli, Mattia Denti, Stefania Ferrari, and Simone Tansini.

Performance Dates: Dec. 16-20, 2020
