Pittsburgh Opera to Present “Iphigénie en Tauride

The Pittsburgh Opera is set to present “Iphigénie en Tauride.”

The opera, which opens on Jan. 20 and runs through Jan. 28, 2024, tells the the Trojan War-era tale of a sister whose duty requires that she kill a man who turns out to be her brother.

The work will star Emily Richter, Brandon Bell, Fran Daniel Laucerica, Julia Swan Laird, Jazmine Olwalia, and Evan Lazdowski. Antony Walker conducts the production by Haley Stamats who will make her Pittsburgh Opera debut. The production will include set design by Johnmichael Bohach, Costume Design by Laura Riviere, and Lighting & Projection Designer by Tláloc López-Watermann.

Performances will take place at the CAPA School Theater, Downtown.
