Pittsburgh Opera Announces 2021-22 Residents Artists

The Pittsburgh Opera has announced its 2021-22 Resident Artists.

This year’s Resident Artists will be Maire Therese Carmack, Madeline Ehlinger, Véronique Filloux, Yazid Gray, Jeremy Harr, Kaley Karis Smith, Rohan Smith, and Andrew Turner.

Pittsburgh Opera’s Resident Artist Program is considered one of the country’s leading training programs for young singers and this year’s selection came from 500 applicants from around the world. The Resident Artists will have masterclasses with opera legends, study languages, diction, movement, and acting, while developing their vocal skills, expanding their repertoire, and performing on stage in Pittsburgh Opera productions.

This season Resident Artist Artistic Administration Assistant position was added and is intended to be filled by an individual from a historically underrepresented group within the opera industry.
