Pittsburgh Festival Opera to Tribute Mildred Miller Posvar

Pittsburgh Festival Opera has announced that it will be presenting a tribute to founder Mildred Miller Posvar, in celebration of her lifetime achievements and contributions to the world of opera.

The tribute is set to take place during the 10th Annual Mildred Miller International Voice Competition on November 6, 2020. This edition of the competition has currently named 13 mezzo-sopranos as finalists, with the winners to be announced on November 8.

Miller Posvar, 95, is currently serving on the Board of Directors for PFO, and has performed as a featured artist for 23 consecutive seasons at the Metropolitan Opera; she has sung worldwide, throughout Europe, and with every leading opera company in the United States
