The Pittsburgh Festival Opera has announced a virtual Valentine’s Day event titled “Some Enchanted Evening.”

The concert, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2021, will feature a number of company artists in a program curated by Artistic Director Marianne Cornetti. The program will include selections from works such as “La Bohème,” “Pagliacci,” “Samson and Delilah,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “West Side Story,” and “South Pacific.”

The roster of artists includes sopranos Charlene Canty, Danielle Pastin, and Katy Shackleton Williams; mezzo Alice Chung; tenor John Pickle; baritone Yazid Gray; and bass Brian Kontes. They will be accompanied by PFO Director of the Young Artists Program Robert Frankenberry and Pittsburgh Opera’s James Lesniak.

“We are optimistic about planning ahead; looking beyond the end of the pandemic when we can all be together again,” Cornetti stated in a press release. “For now, we will remain safe and vigilant to protect our performers, staff, and audience by presenting beautiful music online with some of the greatest veteran, local, and emerging opera stars.”
