Piotr Beczala has revealed he will sing Wagner’s “Parsifal” at the Bayreuth Festival in 2022.

In an interview with Platea Magazine, the tenor revealed that he will make his role debut in 2022 first in a concert version with the Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst and then in Bayreuth with Anja Harteros and Ludovic Tézier.

The tenor also revealed that after “Parsifal” he will not sing any more Wagner roles. Beczala sang his first Wagner opera in 2016 in the title role of “Lohengrin” and went on to perform it in Zurich and Bayreuth.

During the interview, Beczala also revealed that he will return to Madrid for “Aida” and for a work by Victor García de Gomar in Barcelona.

The tenor is set to perform at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in a gala concert with Sondra Radvanovsky and will sing at the Polish National Opera in “Werther.”
