Piotr Beczala & Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen Highlight New CD/DVD Releases – July 1

Three new releases are set for this week. One of the the releases comes from last summer while another is a world premiere of an interesting new work.

Lohengrin

Piotr Beczala stars in Yuval Sharon’s acclaimed production of Wagner’s masterwork from last summer’s Bayreuth production. Anja Harteros, Waltraud Meier, Tomasz Konieczny, and Georg Zeppenfeld also star. Christian Thielemann conducts this new release by Deutsche Grammophon. 

Entanglementing

Sam Genovese will release the radical electronic opera for solo voice. It will mark Genovese’s sixth album and first opera. The new work will employ an electronic score, noise, volume, and a solo Natural American vocal style shifting between crooner, R&B, & No-Ego. According to the press release, this will be something completely new to listeners. The work tells the story of a mysterious man who grapples with guilt for having participated in an overseas action on behalf of his government.

Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen

Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen releases his new solo album with American Bach Soloists and Maestro Jeffrey Thomas. The new album available on iTunes, in CD format, and all streaming services features works by Handel, Gluck, and Vivaldi.
