Piotr Beczala & Aida Garifullina Headline Wiener Opernball 2020

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced that Aida Garifullina and Piotr Beczala will headline the Wiener Opernball.

The ball, which is one of the most anticipated evenings in the Vienna schedule, will be held on Feb. 20, 2020 and will see Garifullina sing from “La Traviata” while Beczala will perform an aria from “Tosca.” There will also be selections from “Die Csárdásfürstin” and Daniel Harding will conducting Wiener Staatsopernorchester.

Garifullina is currently performing at the Royal Opera House in a production of “La Bohème” and will return to Vienna for her role debut in “La Traviata.” This season she also sings in a revival of “LEisir d’Amore” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

Meanwhile, Beczala is currently performing in a production of “Lohengrin” in Vienna and is set to return to the Metropolitan Opera for “Werther.”
