Pioneer Works will present a preview event for the Met Opera’s production of “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” on Sept. 14, 2025.

The showcase will feature a conversation between production designer Mark Grimmer and comic-book expert and cover designer Chip Kidd. The event will be moderated by Dr. Miriam Mora, a historian of American immigration and ethnic history, and also includes performances from the cast of the opera.

The work will premiere on Sept. 21 and run through Oct 11, 2025. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, The Met’s Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director, will conduct a cast that includes baritone Andrzej Filończyk in his Met debut as Joe Kavalier and tenor Miles Mykkanen as Sam Clay. The cast also includes soprano Lauren Snouffer in her Met debut, mezzo-soprano Sun-Ly Pierce, baritone Edward Nelson, and bass-baritones Patrick Carfizzi and Craig Colclough.
