BREAKING NEWS. Due to unforeseen circumstances at the #US/#Canada border, Ms Joyce El Khoury was denied entrance to the US and will not be able to perform in the up coming Live Drive in performance of Tosca. We are extremely saddened by these turn of events, but also thrilled that world renown soprano Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs was willing to fill in at the last minute. Her illustrious career and knowledge of the role of Tosca are an exiting addition to this already amazing cast! Get your tickets now!

The Phoenicia Festival of the Voice has announced details for its Drive-in “Tosca.”

The Festival’s own Maria Todaro will present the opera in a sci-fi world, inspired by both the work’s timelessness and the limitations to ensure the safety of performers, crew, staff, and the audience.

According to a press release, Todaro and Jason Wible “collaborated to find ways to integrate live events in the world of virtual technologies. As part of an introduction through a mutual friend Jason was introduced to Maria Todaro of the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice who had been exploring the idea of introducing the world of opera in a new virtual form.”

In this new interpretation, Baron Scarpia possesses powers that let him exercise violence from a distance and can get under your skin from well over six-feet away.

The cast will include Joyce El-Khoury as Tosca, Jonathan Tetelman as Mario, and Kyle Albertson as her “star-wars stalker” Scarpia .

The new futuristic “Tosca'” will take place on Aug. 29th at Tech City in Kingston, NY. The venue will hold up to 600 cars.
