The Orchestre Classique de Montréal has announced that baritone Phillip Addis will replace Dominique Côté in the presentation of Kaminsky, Reed and Campbell’s opera “As One.”

Addis will be joined onstage by the mezzo-soprano Sarah Bissonnette. Performances will take place on November 20 & 21, 2020, at the Cirque Éloize in Montreal.

“We are very excited to present this opera which has garnered great success in the United States and deals with themes that perfectly fit in with the spirit of our times. As a member of the LGBT+ community, I am especially proud
to offer our audience this opera which illustrates the realities of the trans community”, said OCM’s Executive Director Taras Kulish in a press release.

Addis has performed the title role in Britten’s “Billy Budd” at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Count Almaviva in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro,” and the title role in “Don Giovanni” at the Edmonton Opera, among others.

Geneviève Leclair will conduct the production by Eda Holmes.
