Philharmonie de Paris Announces Cast Change for Verdi Requiem

The Philharmonie de Paris has announced a cast change for its Verdi Requiem on Oct. 4, 2024.

The company said that Iwona Sobotka will sing the soprano role replacing the originally announced Juliana Grigoryan.

Sobotka has performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Staatskapelle Berlin, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and Vienna Symphony.

This season she is set to debut in the roles of “Aida,” Amelia in “Un Ballo in Maschera,” Senta in “Der fliegende Holländer,” Desdemona in “Otello,” and “Turandot.”

Riccardo Muti will conduct the performance of Verdi’s Requiem which will also include Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Giovanni Sala, and Maharram Huseynov. There will also be a radio broadcast of the concert on France Musique.

Grigoryan returns to the stage for Verdi’s Requiem in October with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
