Peter Mattei, Julia Kleiter & Klaus Florian Vogt Lead Duisburger Philharmoniker’s 2021-22 Season

The Duisburger Philharmoniker has announced its 2021-22 season.

For the purposes of this article, we will focus on vocal works only.

A performance of Beethoven‘s “Missa Solemnis” stars soprano Julia Kleiter, tenor Christoph Prégardien, alto Ingeborg Danz, and bass Tareq Nazmi. Christoph Spering conducts the Chorus Musicus Köln.

Performance dates: Sep. 8 – 9, 2021

Baritone Peter Mattei and soprano Christina Landshamer perform Johannes Brahms’s “Ein deutsches Requiem” alongside conductor Axel Kober and the Audi Jugendchorakademie.

Performance dates: Nov. 10 – 11, 2021

Countertenor Valer Sabadus present works by Händel, Vivaldi, Schumann, Fauré, Ravel, Satie, Weill, Zhurbin, Ferré, Nyman, Riedel, Meijering, Plumettaz, Gore, and Koschitzki alongside Spark, der klassischen Band.

Mezzo-soprano Kimberley Boettger-Soller performs works by Vivaldi, Franceschini, Händel and Purcell.

Soprano Heidi Elisabeth Meier presents various works.

Performance date: Jan. 9 – 16, 2022

Tenor Klaus Florian Vogt performs Schubert‘s “Winterreise” alongside conductor Axel Kober.

Soprano Dorothee Mields presents works by Bach and Shostakovich alongside the G. A. P. Ensemble.

Performance date: Feb. 6, 2022

Baritone Benjamin Hewat-Craw gives a recital alongside pianist Michael Gees.

Performance date: Feb. 9, 2022

A performance of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “Die erste Walpurgisnacht” showcases alto Anna Harvey, tenor Patrick Grahl, baritone Johannes Kammler, and bass Wolf Matthias Friedrich alongside pianist Mariam Batsashvili and the Philharmonischer Chor Duisburg. Marie Jacquot conducts.

Performance dates: April 6 – 7, 2022

Mezzo-soprano Anna Lucia Richter presents works by Johannes Brahms and Franz Schubert alongside pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz.

Performance date: April 24, 2022

Bass-baritone Andrey Akhmetov sings music by Monteverdi, Caccini, Kapsberger, Lambert, Guedron, de Visée, Purcell, Hammerschmidt, and Krieger. Elizaveta Solovey plays the lute.
