Pensacola Opera To Present Jukebox Gala

By Francisco Salazar

The Pensacola Opera will present a Jukebox Gala.

The gala, which will be held on Oct. 12 at Skopelos at New World, will be a musical extravaganza with a four-course dinner. The Jukebox Gala will offer an intimate cabaret-style concert featuring classic opera arias, musical theatre favorites, and jazz standards sung to you tableside by acclaimed professional opera singers.

The gala will open with selections from the Opera’s upcoming 37th season mainstage productions and the rest of the evening will see guests have the rare and special opportunity to bid on over 35 songs from the “opera jukebox” to be sung directly to them, their table, or a special someone.

Among the artists who will perform at the gala include Kara Shay Thomson, John Riesen, Gillian Cotter, Sheila Murphy Dunn, Corey McKern, and Charles Eaton. The evening will also feature performances by the 2019-20 Artists in Residence including Bizhou Chang, Emily Triebold, Aaren Rivard, and Corey Gaudreau.
