PBS Announces Schedule for Broadcast of Sonya Yoncheva’s Metropolitan Opera Performance

PBS has announced that it will start broadcasting Sonya Yoncheva’s concert from the Met Opera early in 2021 on Sept. 3, 2021.

Additionally, the organization revealed that “Great Performances at the Met: Lise Davidsen in Concert” will be hitting the New York metro area on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at 12 p.m. on THIRTEEN.

The showcase stars the Bulgarian soprano taking on music from such operas as “Il Trovatore,” “Aida,” “La Bohème,” “Rusalka,” Le Villi, “Rinaldo,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Thaïs,” “Manon,” and “Carmen,” among others.

Yoncheva performed live from the Library in Schussenried Cloister in southwest Germany alongside pianist Julien Quentin.

This is the latest in a series of performances that have featured Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Bryn Terfel, Angel Blue, and Joyce DiDonato, among others.
