Opera Philadelphia is set to present “Ne Quittez Pas.”

The opera will be directed by James Darrah’s and will be a reimagining of Poulenc’s 1958 monodrama “La voix humaine,” based on a play by Jean Cocteau. The work will be presented at Philadelphia’s Theater of Living Arts with Darrah adding a cabaret-style prologue of Poulenc art songs on texts by Guillaume Apollinaire and others, as well as additional poetry by both Apollinaire and Cocteau.

The production will star soprano Patricia Racette, who has made a signature role out of the opera with the prologue sung by Edward Nelson. The production is led by music director and pianist Christopher Allen.

Performances will be held on Sept. 22, 23, 27, 29, and 30, 2018.

Aside from this production Opera Philadelphia is set to perform “Sky on Swings,” “Glass Handel,” “Lucia di Lammermoor,” and “Queens of the Night.”
