Patricia Racette, Anna Caterina Antonacci To Star In New York City Opera’s 2019-20 Season

The New York City Opera has announced its 2019-20 season.

The season opens in September with a concert that will celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary season. This concert will be presented free to audiences at Bryant Park and will showcase scenes and arias from many of the company’s legendary productions.

Performance Date: Sept. 9, 2019

The company will then continue its Ópera en Español series with a double bill of “O Arame: A Galicia Opera” and “El Amor Brujo.

Performance Dates: TBA

Anna Caterina Antonacci returns to New York for a concert performances of “Gloriana.” This will be the first time in 40 years that the Britten opera appears in New York.

Performance Date: April 19, 2020 

Mascagni’s “Isabeau” will get two performances in a co-production with Opera Holland Park.

Performance Dates: May 29, 31, 2019

The company will showcase a pride concert to cap its season as curated by Tobias Picker. It will star Patricia Racette and other members of the LGBTQ+ community from the company.

Performance Date: June 19, 2019
