Patricia Petibon & Lawrence Brownlee Headline Hungarian State Opera Gala

On August 21, Patricia Petibon and Lawrence Brownlee will join forces for a gala concert at the Zoltán Kodály Park at Eiffel Art Studios by the Hungarian State Opera.

The gala concert will feature Petibon and Brownlee performing selections from “Faust,” “La fille du régiment,” “Rigoletto,” “La Traviata” and “Manon,” as well as pieces by European and American songwriters.

It will also feature Hungarian soloists accompanied by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Among the soloists are Zsuzsanna Ádám, Marcell Bakonyi, Anatoly Fokanov, Anna Csenge Fürjes, Lilla Horti, Zoltán Kelemen, Kinga Kriszta, Viktória Mester, Dániel Pataky, Orsolya Hajnalka Rőser, Orsolya Sáfár and Károly Szemerédy. The soloists will perform excerpts by Bizet, Erkel, Gershwin, Mozart, Puccini, Strauss II and Verdi. The Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by general music director Balázs Kocsár, the renowned Ádám Medveczky and Sámuel Csaba Tóth.

The gala is being organized as part of a charity day to support the István Regőczi Foundation for Coronavirus Orphans. The audience will be addressed by Anita Herczegh, wife of the President of Hungary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
