Pasadena Chorale Announces Formation of ‘The High Notes’

By David Salazar

Pasadena Chorale has announced the formation of “The High Notes.”

The ensemble, which aims to develop the passions of middle school students in the Pasadena area, will be open to sopranos and altos between Grades six to eight.

“The High Notes meets the growing capacities of middle school students with the challenges that come with high-level choral singing, including music theory, vocal technique, and experience with foreign languages,” said Pasadena Chorale and High Notes director Jeffrey Bernstein in an official press statement. “All this takes place in a fun and supportive environment where students build friendships outside of school and experience first-hand the joy of singing well with other people.”

The ensemble will perform at several concerts throughout the year, including a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor with a professional orchestra.
