Paradox Opera’s Inclusive Production of ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’

Paradox Opera will present a new LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

The fully staged opera features a diverse cast of those within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and the BIPOC community. Eleven year old Raleigh Boy’s Choir member, Phillip Towns takes on the title role. He is joined by Christopher Fotis, Governor Harris, Gwendolyn Hyland, Miguel Pedroza, and Alissa Roca.

Cole D. Swanson is in charge of the piano and oboe accompaniment and Collins Wilson directs.

Performances are scheduled for Jan. 12 and 13 at 6:30 p.m. local time at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Hillsborough, NC. Both performances include a post-performance meet-and-greet with the cast and leadership.
