By Francisco Salazar

Alessandro Corbelli has canceled his participation in Opera de Paris’ “La Cenerentola.”

The Opéra National de Paris announced that Corbelli would not perform the role of Don Magnifico from Dec. 7 through the 26. As a result, Paolo Bordogna will replace Corbelli.

Bordogna recently finished a production of Mozart’s “Così Fan Tutte” at the Bayerische Staatsoper and is set to take on the title role of Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. He will also perform in a production of “Il Barbiere Di Siviglia” at the NCPA and “La Scala Di Seta” at the Royal Opera Muscat.

Bordogna joins Lawrence Brownlee, Adam Plachetka, Florián Sempey, and Marianne Crebassa in “La Cenerentola.” Evelino Pidò conducts.
