Palau de les Arts Launches ‘Maratón Verdi’

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia has kicked off “Maratón Verdi,” a three-week series of educational activities aimed at exploring the life and work of the famed Italian master.

The cultural agenda includes performances, concerts, recitals, workshops, family activities, and audiovisual programs. Among those participating in the programming are artists of the Centre de Perfeccionament de Les Arts, students from the Conservatorio Alessandro Scarlatti de Palermo, students from the Superior de Música Joaquín Requena, the Orquesta Filarmònica de la Universitat de València, and such pianists as Carlos Apellániz, Jorge Balanzà, Claudio Carbó, and Rubén Sáez.

The marathon takes place as the Palau de les Arts presents a production of “Un Ballo in Maschera,” which will be at the center of many of the workshops and activities. Among the other activities are “Verdi and his Time,” “Verdi for All,” a recital at IVAM, “Opera Under Construction, “The Life of Verdi.”

The marathon commenced on April 14 and runs through Sunday, May 5, 2024.
