The Palau de les Arts in Valencia has canceled performances of Tomás Bretón’s “La verbena de la Paloma” on Nov. 2 and 3, 2024 due to the tragedy caused by historic flooding.

The company said, “The Council of Education, Culture, Universities, and Employment informs that, due to the tragedy caused by DANA in the Valencian Community and as a sign of respect for the victims and affected persons, performances are temporarily suspended at cultural centers.

As a result, the Palau de lest Arts canceled the zarzuela’s opening performances.

The company is still set to perform the work on Nov. 6 and 8. José Miguel Pérez Sierra will conduct and Nuria Castejón will direct.

The production is set to star Emilio Sánchez, Jorge Rodríguez-Norton, Borja Quiza, Milagros Martín, Carmen Romeu, Ana San martín, Gurutze Beitia, Aroa Fernández, Rafa Castejón, Ricardo Reguera, Nuria Pérez, Alberto Frías, Adrián Quiñones, Ariel Carmona, Mitxel Santamarina, Ana Goya, Albert Díaz, Cristina Arias, María Ángeles Fernández, and Esther Ruiz.
