The Pacific Vocal Series is teaming up with The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA to present “Opera at The Coliseum” on Oct. 5, 2024.

The one-hour Mediterranean-inspired program will feature soprano Deanna Breiwick, mezzo-soprano Kayleigh Decker, tenor Frederick Ballentine, and baritone Alexander Birch Elliott. They are joined by pianist Peter Walsh to take on music from the standard French and Italian repertory.

The program was curated by Pacific Vocal Series President Jay Colwell.

Breiwick has performed with such companies as Opéra de Monte Carlo, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Utah Symphony, The Dallas Opera, Washington Concert Opera, and San Francisco Opera, among others. Meanwhile, Decker has appeared with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Apollo Chorus, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in Copenhagen, among others. Ballentine is a recipient of the 2021 Marian Anderson Award and has performed with the Seattle Opera, Washington National Opera, and Metropolitan Opera. Finally, Elliott’s resume includes performances with the Los Angeles Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Houston Grand Opera, among others.

The performance kicks off at 5 p.m. and the event concludes at 6:30 p.m. local time.
