Pacific Opera Victoria to Hold Weekly Podcasts

By Logan Martell

On April 5, 2020 Pacific Opera Victoria will present their “Inside Opera” program, a discussion between host and Curator of Public Engagement Robert Holliston, and Timothy Vernon, the company’s Artistic Director.

The podcast will go live at 10 a.m. PT, at pacificopera.ca. As Holliston and Vernon discuss their favorite operas and composers, listeners will also receive a link to a corresponding Spotify playlist.

In addition to “Inside Opera,” Pacific Opera Victoria hosts two more weekly broadcasts. The first, “Listening Party Podcast,” is hosted by Rebecca Hass, and opera singer, broadcaster, and company Director of Public Engagement; she is joined by local and national opera artists, with the podcast streaming Fridays at 4 p.m. PT.

The second program, “Acoustic Afternoon,” takes listeners into the kitchens and living rooms of opera singers as they showcase favorite songs. The upcoming episode on April 6 will feature Canadian tenor Adam Luther, who recently appeared in Pacific Opera’s production of “Countess Maritza” and “Il Trittico.” The podcast will stream Mondays at 1pm PT on the company’s site.
