La Toison d’Art & Oxford Voices Concert Unveils Concert Tour Throughout France

The Oxford Voices Consort is set to present a series of concerts throughout France.

First up, the ensemble, led by Mark Shepherd, will present “Musique Sacrée d’Angleterre, Italie, & Espagne” including works by William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, John Sheppard, Richard Farrant, Thomas Weelkes, George Kirbye, Richard Dering, Gregorio Allegri, Giovanni P. da Palestrina, Tomas Luis de Victoria. The first performance will take place in Paris as part of the Festival Musique en l’Île and will be subsequently followed by performances in Tournus, Vézelay, Noirmoutier-en-l’Île, Arcachon, Guitres, Marcillac-Lanville, Louvie-Juzon, Royan, and Les Sables d’Olonne.

Soloists, in differing configurations from concert to concert, include Susie Hill, Sidhart Imanol, and Joe Deery. Patrick Donnelly, Rachel Coombs, Sumei Bao-Smith, Florian Störz, and Nina Vinther.

Performance Dates: August 14 – 26, 2022

The tour ends with Mozart’s Requiem, which is also presented as part of the Festival Musique en l’Ile in Paris. The showcase, which will take place at the Eglise Saint—Louis-en-lÎle Paris, will star soprano Sumei Bao-Smith, alto Nina Vinther, tenor Sidhart Imanol, and bass Florian Störz.

The performance, which will be conducted by Mark Shepherd, will also include the Choeur Musique en l’Île and the Académie de l’Île-Saint-Louis.

All concerts are presented in collaboration with La Toison d’Art, an organization specialized in vocal concerts, particularly those showcasing sacred music.
