Osterfestspiele Salzburg Announces 2027 Season Featuring Lise Davidsen’s First Brünnhilde

The Osterfestspiele Salzburg has announced its 2027 season.

Since the first-ever Easter Festival opened with Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen,” the company will now begin a new cycle to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

“Die Walkure” will star Jamez McCorkle, Christopher Malan, Brindley Sherratt, Christina Nilsson, Lise Davidsen and Catrina Morison. Kirill Petrenko conducts the new production by Kirill Serebrennikov.

Performance Dates: March 20-29, 2027


Händel’s “Messiah” will be conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm and will include Sabine Devieilhe, Carlo Vistoli, Eric Ferring, and William Thomas.

Performance Dates: March 21-28, 2027


Beethoven’s “Missa solemnis” will be conducted by Kirill Petrenko and will feature the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Golda Schultz, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Sebastian Kohlhepp, and David Steffens.

Performance Dates: March 24 & 27, 2027
