Orquesta de Extremadura Announces 2020-21 Season

The Orquesta de Extremadura in Spain has announced its 2020-21 season.

The season will include 15 performances with a number of vocal concerts. Here is a local of the operatic and vocal concerts in the season.

The season opens with an all-Mahler program that includes the composer’s “Rückert Lieder” performed by José Antonio López and Symphony No. 10. The concert is conducted by Álvaro Albiach.

Performance Dates: Sept. 24 & 25, 2020

Gabriel Fauré and André Messager’s “Messe des Pêcheurs de Villerville” will be performed alongside Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. Víctor Pablo Pérez conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12 & 13, 2020

Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 concludes the season with soloists Carmen Solís and Cristina Faus. Álvaro Albiach conducts the monumental symphony.

Performance Dates: June 10 & 11, 2021
