Orquesta Ciudad De Granada Announces 2019-20 Season

The Orquesta Cuidad de Granada has announced its 2019-20 season. For this article, we will only focus on vocal highlights.

Maria Katzarava takes on the title role in Alberto Garcia Desmestres’s “Juana sin Cielo.” Desmestres conducts the work.

Performance Dates: Nov. 15 & 16, 2019

Handel’s Messiah takes the stage for the holiday season with soloists Jone Martinez, Federica Carnevale, Valerio Contalde, and Victor Cruz. Carlos Mena conducts the masterwork.

Performance Dates: Dec. 13 & 14, 2019

Carlos Menza, Pilar Alva, and Jone Martinez star in a concert version of Gluck’s “Orfeo et Eurdice.” Mena conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 21, 2020

Jone Martinez and Carlos sing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in a concert that also includes music by Vivaldi and Marcelo. Andrea Marcon conducts.

Performance Date: April 3, 2020

The season comes to a close with Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana featuring soloists Natalia Labourdette, Joaquin Asiain, and Antonio Torres. Lucas Macias conducts.

Performance Dates: May 15 & 16, 2020
