Orkester Nord is set to present Händel’s “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia.

The concert, which will be conducted by Martin Wåhlberg, will feature such artists as soprano Pauline Texier, mezzo-sopranos Mari Askvik and Genna Ni Bhriain, and tenor Kaelig Boché.

The performances are set for Dec. 10 and 11, 2022.

Orkester Nord was founded in Trondheim and has specialized in baroque repertory, with an emphasis on French music and the works of Händel, among others.

“Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” was composed in 1707 and features a libretto by Cardinal Benedetto Pamphili. It was premiered in the summer in Rome and features such famed passages as “Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa,” a passage that Händel later reused for his famed opera “Rinaldo” as “Lascia ch’io piangia.”
