Orchestre Classique de Montréal to Present Québec Premiere of ‘As One’

The Orchestre Classique de Montréal has announced that it will be presenting the Québec premiere of Kimberly Reed, Mark Campbell, and Laura Kaminsky’s famed “As One.”

The chamber opera will be presented on Nov. 20 and 21, 2020 at the Cirque Éloize with two options available for prospective audience members. On one hand, there will be 100 tickets on sale for attendance to the performance. However, the company is also offering up an opportunity for those who wish to attend virtually to watch the opera from their homes anywhere around the world.

The opera will star Baritone Dominique Côté in the role of Hannah before with Sarah Bissonnette taking on the role of Hannah after. The work will be directed by Eda Holmes with Anne-Catherine Simard Deraspe working on lighting design. Projections by Kimberly Reed will be included in the production.

“We are very excited to present this opera which has garnered great success in the United States and deals with themes that perfectly fit in with the spirit of our times. As a member of the LGBT+ community, I am especially proud to offer our audience this opera which illustrates the realities of the trans community,” OCM’s Executive Director Taras Kulish said in a press release.
